Q&A

Addressing Mistakes in Quran Recitation

If I recite a portion of the Qur'an from memory as part of a complete recitation and then I discover that I made some mistake, do I need to repeat the recitation from the place where the error occurred?

Answer: If a person recites the Qur'an and realizes there was an error (in the recitation) in a word or verse, then what they have recited is done with, and they will be rewarded for it, as Allah the Exalted wills.

They should correct the mistake in their subsequent recitations.

It is not mandatory to repeat the recitation from the place where the mistake occurred. That is not mandatory, whether he recited from memory or by reading from the Mushaf.

There is no need to return and repeat from the point of error.

I ask Allah to benefit you through this recitation.
