Q&A

Alcohol-Free Drinks in Champagne Packaging—Permissible or Problematic?

In stores, there are non-alcoholic drinks, but the bottle is designed to resemble a champagne bottle. Would such a drink be prohibited?

Answer: There is no issue with the drink itself, regardless of the container it comes in, even if the bottle resembles an alcohol container in its form, as long as what is inside it is from the permissible (list of drinks).

However, carrying such a bottle in public or drinking from it in public places where people might not distinguish it from alcohol should perhaps be avoided.

This is to prevent others from assuming that the person drinking from such a bottle is consuming alcohol. Otherwise, drinking it is permissible, and there is no prohibition against it.
